A Filmy Love Isstory............

A Love Story................

She peeked at me, out of her window every day,

As on the way to tuitions, her house was on the way.

She thought that I did not notice her,

But my heart was struck, since the day I first saw her.

And this went on for days and weeks,

Till we finally got the chance to speak.

We first met at the Grocer’s store,

Where she was bargaining hard to get some more.

She shied off, noticing I was there,

And started biting her nails in despair.

I then politely greeted her,

And she replied back almost as a murmur.

Her modest smile enhanced her beauty,

And her shy behaviour, greeted her modesty.

And just another day in between our talks,

I asked her out in the garden, for a walk.

I had courage mustered up to propose to her in that meet,

But the news of her departure made me retreat.

She said that she was leaving the city,

And I stood still in a state of pity.

I then dropped her home and bid her goodbye,

But it wasn’t easy to hold back the tears in the eyes.

And then on till the day of her departure,

I committed to myself that I wouldn’t ever see her.

But these commitments turned out to be fake,

As my love and feelings were put at stake.

I walked up to her house, to confess to her about my state,

Only to realize that I was a bit too late.

I saw her moving away in a car,

Which i chased till it went too far.

Having completed my studies, I landed up in a job,

But still her thoughts, made the heart to sob

Then one day came up a marriage proposal,

Which I had to accept at my parents’ disposal.

And then came the most important day of my life,

I wished that the girl of my dreams was by my side.

And as I was seated for the marriage rituals,

A beautiful girl walked up by my side.

My would be wife then murmured in my ear,

That you should have run faster that day, my dear.

I started to have feelings as hero of a crap bollywood movie ,

With “Sim - Ran” by my side in full bonhomie.

But the story here was a bit too unique and with no pitfalls,

No Villians , no running after train , no excitement at all .

As I took “Simran’s” palm in my hands , I had goosebumps & soothing sensations,

But my Samsung Phone soon made me realize its  magnitude  of Morning Alarm Vibrations.

THE FIRST MISTAKE …..

My birth moment brought about a dynamic change in my relatives’ expressions,
The atmosphere got transformed from anticipation to frustration.

My initial expressions matched that of each of my relative in the Hospital’s dorm,
The lone one to cry in joy was none other than my mom.

During childhood, people in my locality nurtured me with love & care
But now that I’ve grown mature, I get scared even by their stares.

I’ve now got acquainted with the position of each of the sewage drain in the locality,
But the newspaper gave me light, about the change of lampposts, by the municipality.

The first time I had left home, for pursuing my higher education,
My mother acted sternly that day, in defiance to hide her expressions.

That day, her rolling tears, appeared to move faster than the speed of the train,
And they soon turned uncontrollable as the monsoon rains.

Thereafter she called me several times a day, with conversations not so detailed,
More than her love for me, it was her sense of fear that prevailed.

Before entering into the sacred marriage relationship,
My would-be husband had to be weighed down on a scale of material possession ship.

They say that father gets relieved at the marriage of his daughter,
But the debt he was now under was justly equivalent to his slaughter.

Looking back at life, each moment of it was at other’s stake,
Forcing me to recollect what was My First Mistake?

The First Mistake, more than a poem, is a question put forward to the society, by a modern day girl, who just wants an explanation to few of her questions. She wishes to know that whether she made her gravest mistake by adapting to a number of relationships: daughter, wife or mother, and more than that, dotting each relationship with her utmost love & dedication.

Still today in the 21st century, birth of a girl child, is not welcomed in most of Indian Households. Here the narrator worries about her First Mistake, but the society needs to worry about its mistaken mindset, before it’s too late.

WORTH…………………….

A pinch of salt makes delicious food disappear in matter of a wink,

While an extra bit of it makes all of it go down the sink.

We pass by on the road , being insensitive to oozing pool of other’s blood,

While after shedding few drops of ours , It seems as if we lost our world.

The destitute children get starved for a hug of benovelence ,

While their educated counterparts treat parent’s over affection as interference.

A handful of sand seeping out symbolizes the whole year,

While each passing minute in an exam , prove to be ever so dear.

A tiny matchstick helps us get into the religious sheath,

While the same one’s capable enough to push us seven minutes closer to death.

A bottle of water may be used to flavor the wine,

The same when used in a desert , it’s value goes divine.

We keep fiddling to get the best shoes with utmost deperation,

While people with artificial limb , thank god for this holy invention.

Few doses of drugs guide us go on to be a COOL DUDE,

While two drops of a vaccine ,is enough to save a childhood.

The people guiding us to the Mountain’s top are worthy but probably unreal,

The one’s thumping & pushing you at ground level are one’s blessings and surreal.
