On the occasion of my birthday , i would use this media to express my sweet love to my dear friends at my college who on 10th December made sure that i did not graduate out of college without celebrating a single birthday and also that i get a taste of the birthday bumps which others were lucky enough to get each year.

DISCIPLINE - A VITAL ASPECT OF LIFE

Discipline is an important facet of our life. Its importance is further signified by it being the first wife of every military personnel. A soldier without discipline is just as a Hindi movie without a heroine. We all are disciplined in some way or the other. We have a daily schedule for various types of activities as jogging, going to college, lunch, dinner and other daily activities.

Discipline also plays an important role in time management. A person who is not disciplined can also not be orderly with respect to time. In this fast paced world, we all have to meet various deadlines: deadline for assignments, projects or seminars. Being disciplined helps us meet these deadlines with glee, whereas unorderly schedule keeps us at our toes.

Discipline is such an important feature in our life that it affects each and every indivisual. The importance of discipline got further engraved in my mind when I woke up this Wednesday at my home. I heard the yelling of many beggars on the road for alms. Here I would like to mention that this particular “BATCH” of beggars visits our locality only on Wednesday mornings and they have other days reserved for other regions of Jamshedpur!!!! . Further interesting feature of the story is that I have been witnessing this schedule of theirs for the last 10-15 years.

It is said that the world changes every decade, but these beggars teach us the essence of discipline in our lives. The begging faces though have changed, but not their schedule and they have passed on their legacy with utmost strict code of conduct.

I would like to emphasize that I do not encourage begging as a means to survive life, but wish to emphasize that even the most downtrodden community of our society loves to work on time and also that we can learn from any person-irrespective of their social status, irrespective of their age, and also irrespective of their academic qualifications.

The Haldia Local ………

The ‘Haldia Local’ begins its journey on a strict disciplinary note,
Not accelerating to its capacity in just one stroke.

The train then swiftly approaches the station Bandar,
Proudly announcing its arrival with a thunder.

The train further bids goodbye to I.O.C.L, Tata Power and Exide,
The rapid and swaying motion clearly demonstrates its pride.

The first rays of the sun then express its soothening arrival,
The green field’s vista in the background aids in mood revival.

The hot Panskura chop puts us into mouth watering plight,
Sipping hot lemon tea alongside adds to the delight.

The mind gets refreshed by the river Rupnarayan’s cool blowing breeze,
But the scramble rush of people at Bagnan puts the passengers at unease.

While all other available eatables, vary with their nearby stations,
The majestic ‘Jhalmuri’ remains ever at our disposition.

The train is no less than a moving market,
With each vendor having different products up his closet.

Their inventive advertising chimes are a bit too strange,
With books, pens, combs, oranges………., they almost have everything in their range.

When the journey finally nears its completion,
The train slowly approaches Howrah station.

Till now the train considered itself to be a valiant knight,
But it enters Howrah station just as a bride enters the room on first night.

As soon as the train reaches the platform shores,
The ever busy people don’t have the time to wait any more.

People scamper towards the door, to set out for their tasks,
While the train stands relaxed on the platform to bask.

Hardly after bidding goodbye to all its passengers,
The train sets out for its next adventure.

THE MOTHER NATURE

I had feelings of being a sinner,
When the innocent eyes of a cow gaze at me.

I felt that I acted responsibly,
Till I saw a frog evaluating his hop.

I felt I cared for my loved ones,
Till I saw a calf being adored my her mother.

I felt I cooperated with my friends,
Till I saw the Bees collecting the nectar.

I felt I acted in a disciplined manner,
Till I saw the Ants collecting their food stock.

I felt I was loyal to my responsibilities,
Till I noticed the dedication of a Dog.

I felt I was superior to all,
Till I noticed the meekness of an Elephant

I felt I was a quick learner,
Till I saw a newborn calf desperate to stand up right away.

I felt I was lost and lonely,
Till I saw the various patterns in the sky trying to amuse me.

And this made my heart to realize that,
No one is an orphan in this world,
As we are nurtured by the loving Mother Nature.

THE FACEBOOK

“The face is the mirror of the soul”-perhaps this was thought that struck Mr. Zuckerberg when he came up with the most revolutionary inventions of the 21st century –The Face book. Staying in touch of friends was never so easy, with a matter of few clicks, we can reach out to a buddy living in any part of the world.

Face book-the title is apt enough for a social networking site. Facial expressions speak of even those feelings which words cannot specify. A smile on the face is a symbol of the cheerful state of the mind, while a gloomy face sends out vibes of an unpleasant state of mind.

Te facial expressions also aid the police in their investigation as the facial expressions of the convict speaks out his state of mind. When we face a frightful situation, the fear on our face shows up in our actions and also our face. Scientists have constantly linked the facial postures with the state of the mind.

An optimist is said to have cheerful expression on the face while a pessimist is said to have gloomy camouflage. When we do something incorrect, our parents read our soul through the face and point it out easily.

We have a completely different facial expression for a party than that for a funeral. The face can thus be also signified as the carrier of our emotions, the embodiment of the emotional and spiritual state of our inner self.

The face is referred to a book having various chapters of emotions, each totally varied with another but all linked to the same cover-The mind (/heart).

Our love shows up on our face when we meet thy family or thy lovers. The strength of emotions is such that we don’t even require to speak up and communicate through words..

We all remember our childhood days when we used to make faces at each other so as to tease the other person. We even used to show our dislike through ‘special’ expressions or in order to demand for something..

Thus our book of emotions-“The face” is a versatile performer with so many live performances throughout the day varied with with respect to varying circumstances.

WAITING BY THE RIVER SIDE FOR HER………………………

Waiting for you all day long, hoping you would surely come.....

Each wave that touches the feet,
I remember you so very sweet.

The soothing breeze is like your voice,
Giving me a feeling of rejoice.

Your eyes are like the glowing sand,
Sparkling like a magic wand.

The flowers are like your curly hair,
Up and down with moving air.

The rosy petals are like your cheeks,
Glowing with shame when given a peek.

You made me wait for hours alone,
In your thoughts I pelted the stones.

My love, my feelings for you are true,
I can’t even imagine my world without you.

Life is complete when you are around,
No fear, No worries, only happiness abound.

Waiting for you all day long hoping you would surely come………………………………..

Faith

FAITH

Faith is the inspiration behind the first the first steps of a baby,
The trust that Mother will get hold of him if at all he stumbles.

Faith is the trust of a spider on his web,
Feelings that it won’t let it fall down even when he lays overturn.

Faith is the Father’s belief to be supported by the son in his superannuated days,
When he tenders a supporting hand to his child’s adolescence.

Faith is the stroke of the hand over the head or a warm hug,
That gives us the courage to strive against all odds.

Faith is the trust of the couple on the seven rounds around the fire,
To be walking side by side for the rest of the life.

Faith is the belief that a soldier has, before stepping out for a war,
A wish to spend the next festival with his family.

Faith is the trust that binds one billion people together,
It is the driving force behind our spectacular nation –INDIA

PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN!
